stats!

daphne went to her 4 month check up today. the shots were awful but she did great.

she is now 18 weeks so i guess she is more like 4.5 months-

she is:

24.5 inches tall {25th percentile}
13.5 pounds {25th percentile}

she is doing just great! the dr. said she was "extremely, extremely advanced developmentally" which only makes me worried- when my mom and sister hear what she can do they just laugh at me and say: have fun with that- you're going to be in trouble!

4 months!

I guess Daphne is really at the end of 17 weeks this week but today marks her 4 month birthday! I think the confusion between 16 weeks and 4 months threw me off so i didn't update last week. Plus I'm not sure if people are even reading this blog, besides my faithful sister and mother in law.
But, oh well, this is really a record for daphne so we can remember her adorable faces and milestones.
as of 4 months she can {some of these pictures are old..but there are new ones too!} :

+roll.roll.roll. she LOVES to roll. if you put her on the ground literally 8 seconds later (at the most) she is on her tummy. She used to HATE being on her stomach and would whine and whine till we turned her over. (she does roll from stomach to back but she has to be in the mood for it. if she is even a little bit tired she just cries) but she is starting to tolerate her stomach a little more.




+scoot. she has even gotten to be a little more mobile then just rolling! again, when in the mood, and bribed with something interesting (a piece of paper folded up will usually do it) she will prop her knees up and scoot towards it. so far she can move about 6 inches and its quite a struggle.



+eat. so far she has only had rice cereal and only a few times. i fed her yesterday and it was like she finally figured out what do, i think she kept most of it down this time!


+smile and laugh. yesterday i got her to laugh the most adorable little laugh. i am so glad nic was sitting right next to me so he heard it. but, as soon as she would laugh we would freak out and laugh so hard and that scared her everytime.


+bink. she can hold onto a binky with a little handle and she can even put it in her mouth! usually it takes her a few minutes but she eventually finds her open and ready mouth. it is adorable!

+sleep. we usually still get up once during the night to put her binky back in but that is usually enough to calm her down and she goes right back to sleep. She still likes to sleep in our bed in the mornings. This morning when we all woke up at 9 (she had been in bed with us since 6) i looked at her and said: you can't come in bed with us every morning and she looked back at me with the cutest, widest smile and i said: ahhh ok! you can! between putting her binky in and bringing her in bed in the morning she is sleeping 10-12 hours each night. its fabulous.
bascially, we fall more in love with her everyday. she is always doing something cute and even if she has been sad and whiney and hard to handle for an hour she can just look at me in a certain way and i don't even care at all. i love being her mom and nic loves being her dad. we got a good one.

week 15

I know to some a 4 month old might seem like a tiny little baby- but to me, 4 months seems like a pretty old kid. so, i am enjoying my last week with a 3-month old and let me tell you- she is such a doll.
this week she:
consistantly sleeps through the night.
{i am going to reveal a little glimpse into our life- even though this is quite embarrassing for me- but this is our typical schedule: daphne will go to bed around 10 or 11 and we will go to bed between 1-3 am. then, daphne will wake up at 6 or 7 and we will bring her in bed with us and we'll all sleep till 10. sometimes 11. kind of disgusting, right? well, this schedule has officially come to and end. nic and i start school on monday. here we go alarm clock... }

i talked to my mom on sunday night and said i thought she was close to rolling over. she just kind of agreed with me but i could tell she thought i jumping the gun a little bit. So then when i called her on Monday she was pretty surprised- so were we, actually!

she has only done this once and i missed it- but nic saw it. its kind of freaking me out how fast she is figuring things out!

Disclaimer: I completely agree, this picture is freaky. i am not a huge fan of black and white with just a little bit of color pictures anyway- but this one looks especially weird. but, this is for my mom. my mom and i both have very dark brown eyes. none of her kids have blue eyes- but now she has several blue-eyed grandkids and she LOVES it! Well, i never imagined that nic and i (nic has green eyes) would have a baby with big blue eyes and i LOVE it too- i think my mom still checks with me everytime i talk to her to make sure daphne's eyes haven't changed. well, this is just to show how blue her eyes are- there is absolutely no color editing done- i just erased the black and white from her eyes to reveal the picture... so, a pretty freaky picture:

you're really growing up...

to be such a freaking joy to be around.
we just got back from a 2-week long trip to colorado. First we stopped in Utah so you could meet your uncle Christian and aunt Errin. Then we drove 8 more hours and arrived at Nana and Papa's house. You were such a doll the whole trip. You barely cried in the car and I couldn't even sit in the back with you because of all the stuff we had to bring, but you were so good and hardly made a peep. At my parent's house they fell even more in love with you. Everyone was amazed at what a good baby you are. You are doing great sleeping either through the night or only waking up once which is awesome. We took you to the pool for the first time and you really liked to swim. I'm sure we'll go a ton this summer. You also went on your first walk and got to hang out with your cousins: sid, calvin, josie, jon, cally, casey, annabelle, tommy and mia. Everyone thought you were the cutest. Its so easy to fall in love with you- i'm so glad you're mine. <3 mom

This week your sweet great-grandpa Webster passed away. Ever since I started dating your dad, I've adopted Bill as my grandpa too. Both of my grandpas had passed away before I was born and so I quickly adopted your dad's grandparents as my own. I love both the Andersens and Websters so much and they have always loved me right back. Grandpa Webster adored you. Both him and Grandma came to the hospital the day after you were born. Dad took this great picture of you two together. I don't think I've ever seen Grandpa so excited. He has the best look on his face in this picture. Him and Grandma came to see you several times and would often come over during our Sunday dinners at Grandpa and Grammy Bingham's house. He always wanted to hold you and would huddle over Grandma too while she held you just so he could look at you even more. He always had a huge smile on his face and would say over and over that you were such a DOLL. Even though you won't remember being held and adored by your great-grandpa Webster, I wanted to let you know how much he loved you. He was a great man and we will all miss him dearly. I'm sad that you won't get to know him in this life but please know, he love love loved you, daphne.

yesterday {02.15.09} you were blessed by your dad.
i loved hearing what our Father in Heaven has in store for you. Some things that stood out to me during your blessing was that your body, and all parts of your body, would function properly throughout your life. You were also blessed to make good friends and be a good influence on others and that you would find the positive in every situation in your life. During the blessing, you were absolutely perfect. You were alert but quiet and happy. You just looked up at your dad. how adorable :)

You wore the cutest little cream colored sweater dress and black herringbone maryjanes. i really can't believe you are mine, you are too cute.

Your Nana and Papa drove 11 hours each way within 3 days to come and see you be blessed. I was so happy they could be there, along with your Grammy and Grandpa of course, also. you already have so many admirers for being only 6 weeks old. about 20 people came to your blessing just to see you.

We had a great lunch together after and you were passed from arm to arm all day. as a result, you didn't really sleep at all last night but that's ok.. it was still a great weekend.
